School started last Monday (sorry about the lag in posting since). It's much better than I expected, but there are still things that remind me of last year:
- Standing around in the lunchroom with Erika wondering where to sit. If I someone watching us, I would be quite entertained.
- Doing math homework during first hour (well, if we don't do anything in first hour, why not prepare for sixth?).
- Forgetting deadlines (I thought that spanish poster was due next Friday. Turned out it was this Friday. Thanks to some markers and friends who volunteered to go first, I did fine!)
- Locker troubles. Urg. I think that's okay now though.
- Those silly district tests that we have to take three times a year. I honestly think that the reason we don't usually get enough time to finish is so that we fail them at the beginning of the year. Then when they give them to us at the end of the year and also give us time to finish, it looks like we learned something. Which we hopefully will.
- Feeling daring cutting through the media center (fastest way to get to class, less people, plus newspapers).
- Waving at people in the hall who don't wave back. Then feeling not so smart.
- Novel reading during class.
- Hiding novels during class.
- The anticipation before I get a test back (I sooo felt that right before turning over the stack of summer reading journals to see my grade).
- Packing my lunch. Yogurt, spoon, napkin, granola bar, cookies. Almost everyday.
sidenote: I entered some pictures in a contest, so we'll see what happens...

I, too, feel like school is currently much better than expected. Unfortunately, I can't think of any other clever habits to add... : (
Well, I suppose I can forgive you for that but you do disappoint me there.
