Okay.
In practice recently, my goggles have come off when I go off the blocks. I've tried to make it better, adjusting different things, but I was still having a problem with them today. I tightened them as much as I could stand with my new sore eye that I got from yesterday's practice.
First event was the 200 medley relay. I swam breast, and it was alright. I was in the B group, which is good. Last year I was always in C.
During the second warm-up, I did starts mostly. They all felt great, boosting my confidence.
Next event for me was 200 free relay. I was the slowest in my group, by three seconds, but I've also been swimming for the shortest amount of time. B group for this one too.
Last event was supposed to be my favorite, the 100 open breast. I went off the blocks, hit the water, and my goggles came off immediately. They were in my mouth, like a horse, and went around the upper back of my neck. As I swam, it became more difficult to breathe. I moved the goggles from my mouth. Now they went from the back of my neck to right underneath my jaw, like a noose. It was worse. I tried to move the back strap without falling behind too much.
In the end, I came up with a 1:37. My best last year was a 1:29. Disappointing... next time must be better.
End.
New.
